Presight has officially inaugurated its first regional Research and Development (R&D) Laboratory in Central Asia, marking a significant step in Kazakhstan’s journey toward digital transformation. The new facility is set to become a hub for developing advanced artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital governance solutions tailored for the region.
The announcement was made by Magzhan Kenesbai, Chief Growth Officer of Presight, who emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting Kazakhstan’s technological growth. The lab will focus on creating localized AI solutions that align with the country’s goals for innovation-driven development and technological sovereignty.
As part of the launch, Kenesbai provided an update on the Astana Smart City project, a major public-private partnership between Presight and the Akimat of Astana. The project integrates AI technologies into urban management, from traffic and safety monitoring to sustainability and citizen services, highlighting how AI can reshape modern cities.
“Kazakhstan is emerging as a regional hub for artificial intelligence and advanced analytics,” Kenesbai said. “Our R&D Lab, alongside projects like the Astana Smart City, allows us to nurture local talent and implement AI solutions where they can make the greatest impact.”
Deputy Prime Minister Zhaslan Madiyev, who oversees the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development, hailed the opening of Presight’s lab as a key milestone for the nation’s AI ecosystem. He noted that the facility would strengthen local expertise, accelerate AI adoption across industries, and contribute to the development of Smart City solutions for enhanced urban living.
Presight has already played a pivotal role in establishing Kazakhstan’s first Command Center for Government Analytics and Decision-Making. The center enables real-time monitoring and management of municipal and national processes, representing a major leap forward in data-driven governance.
Beyond Kazakhstan, Presight is extending its AI initiatives to Azerbaijan, supporting the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport with national AI strategies. These collaborations demonstrate the company’s broader vision of driving sustainable and inclusive digital transformation across Central Asia.
With the new R&D facility, Presight aims to solidify its position as a key AI partner in the region, bridging global expertise with local innovation to create solutions that support both governments and communities.
