The Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has initiated an urgent humanitarian mission to aid those impacted by the severe earthquakes in Venezuela, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude across northwestern and central regions.
This response has been coordinated with the Qatari government and various international Red Cross and Red Crescent organizations.
In the aftermath of the tremors, QRCS activated its Disaster Information Management Center (DIMC) to assess the humanitarian landscape, keeping communication lines open with the Venezuelan Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Acting on directives from HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, a Qatari relief flight delivered 24 tons of supplies to Venezuela.

In light of the extensive damage and hardships faced by those in the affected regions, QRCS has initiated a fundraising drive to augment relief efforts and address ongoing humanitarian demands.
Mohamed Bader Al Sada, Assistant Secretary-General for Relief and International Development at QRCS, noted that this initiative embodies Qatar’s longstanding commitment to provide aid during crises. The goal is to enhance support, tackle scarce local resources, prevent further loss of life, and bring hope back to affected families.
