In Abu Dhabi, the seventh session of the Qatar-UAE Joint Supreme Committee for Cooperation wrapped up, with a strong commitment from both nations to deepen their strategic collaboration across vital sectors.
Co-chaired by Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, along with UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the meeting also saw participation from senior officials from both countries.
The discussions underscored the historical ties and shared visions that unite Qatar and the UAE. Leaders from both sides noted the progression of bilateral relations towards a more integrated approach aimed at fostering economic advancement, regional stability, and cooperative growth.
They reviewed an array of cooperative endeavors, emphasizing the need to transform dialogues and agreements into actionable projects that yield tangible results.
Economic Integration and Investment Focus
A key highlight of the meeting was the emphasis on economic integration as a means to bolster competitiveness and sustainable growth between Qatar and the UAE.
Agreements to enhance the business landscape, foster mutual investments, and undergird public-private partnerships emerged from the talks, with both nations aspiring to solidify their standings as leading investment hubs within the region and beyond.
Discussions around financial synergies also emerged, including a proposed memorandum between the finance ministries and further actions regarding the double taxation avoidance agreement.
Potential collaborations between the Qatar Investment Authority and Mubadala Investment Company were also deliberated, emphasizing shared interests.
The officials remarked on the importance of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement, recognizing it as a pivotal factor in cultivating a stable investment atmosphere that boosts investor confidence.
Advancing Trade, Technology, and AI
In the trade domain, both nations concurred on enhancing collaboration between their chambers of commerce, facilitating trade delegations, promoting investment opportunities, and routinely exchanging economic data to optimize trade dynamics.
The dialogue also centered on emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, digital innovation, cloud computing, and cybersecurity, highlighting their roles as potential future economic catalysts.
Agreements were established to exchange expertise in digital governance, services, and AI methodologies to aid the transition to knowledge-driven economies.
Infrastructure and Food Security Enhancement
Strategies to optimize transportation connectivity across air, maritime, and land routes were addressed, alongside collaboration between ports and industrial zones to bolster supply chains.
Additionally, the two nations recognized the necessity of information sharing to tackle challenges and inform decisions.
On food security, Qatar and the UAE are set to broaden their partnerships in agriculture, ensuring the availability of essential goods during emergencies.
Social and Humanitarian Cooperation
The session also encompassed discussions on health, education, labor, culture, and humanitarian efforts, stressing the importance of continued collaboration and best practices to enhance mutual development.

Throughout the meeting, several memoranda reflecting the enhanced partnership were signed, including:

Two MoUs focused on agriculture and food security
MoU on municipal cooperation between Doha Municipality and Abu Dhabi's Department of Municipalities and Transport
Both sides reiterated their dedication to executing all agreed outcomes to further strengthen Qatar-UAE relations through actionable cooperation and strategic partnerships.
The closing minutes of the session were officially documented by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with future diplomatic channels set to determine the next meeting in Qatar.
