The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has successfully wrapped up extensive rehabilitation and maintenance on the Dubai Metro's tunnel infrastructure, part of ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing safety and sustainability.
This project aligns with RTA’s long-standing goal of delivering outstanding public transport services while ensuring the metro functions safely and efficiently. RTA emphasizes that these enhancements are integral to its vision of sustainable excellence, supported by modern engineering and advanced technology.
RTA’s tunnel maintenance initiatives involved meticulous inspections, specialized cleaning, and corrective measures for operational issues, including replacing outdated assets to extend the lifespan of the metro infrastructure.
Throughout the past year, RTA undertook 51 in-depth tunnel inspections, leading to the efficient completion of 873 corrective tasks, adhering to high standards.
The organization achieved all its preventive and corrective maintenance targets, showcasing its dedication to passenger safety and sustainable transport services.
In the rehabilitation efforts, RTA employed a blend of manual cleaning and high-pressure washing to effectively remove dust, debris, and surface material that could impede operational safety.
All maintenance operations were conducted following international rail standards, with continuous training programs enhancing the skills of specialized teams, ensuring they remain updated with the latest technologies and safety protocols.
These maintenance efforts promise to boost the reliability and sustainability of the Dubai Metro tunnel infrastructure, supporting the continuous expansion of the city’s public transport network.
