Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially opened the application process for its Academic Scholarship Programme aimed at the 2026–2027 academic year. This initiative is designed to cultivate skilled Emirati individuals in specialized fields that are integral to the evolution of transport and smart technologies.
The scholarship is geared toward exceptional Emirati high school graduates and current university students, providing avenues in critical academic disciplines that align with Dubai's vision for an innovative, digital, and sustainable transportation framework.
Incepted in 2009, the program plays a crucial role in the RTA's mission to nurture a robust pipeline of local talent. It aims to equip students for future roles in advanced sectors and to facilitate major transformations within the transport landscape.
RTA emphasizes that the initiative aligns seamlessly with Dubai's aspirations to empower young Emiratis while readying them for pivotal positions in digital transformation and future mobility advancements.
The scholarship encompasses a diverse range of specialized areas, such as artificial intelligence, advanced data analysis, cybersecurity, digital infrastructures, autonomous transport systems, road engineering, intelligent traffic solutions, smart city planning, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
RTA aims to attract and cultivate talented individuals capable of enhancing forecasting, strategic initiatives, and innovations within the transport sector. The objective is to bolster Dubai's stature as a forerunner in smart and sustainable mobility solutions.
