Rudy Giuliani Admitted to Hospital in Critical Yet Stable State, Says Spokesman

Rudy Giuliani Admitted to Hospital in Critical Yet Stable State, Says Spokesman

Post by : Shweta

Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, is currently hospitalized and is described as being in “critical but stable condition,” as per a statement from his spokesperson. This news has attracted widespread attention due to Giuliani's prominent political background, his significant role during the September 11 attacks, and his close ties to former President Donald Trump.

The spokesperson, Ted Goodman, confirmed the situation on May 3 but did not disclose the specific medical emergency or the reasons behind Giuliani’s hospitalization. The statement emphasized that he remains under medical supervision as his health is being closely monitored.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman stated. He referred to Giuliani as “a fighter” who has encountered numerous challenges throughout his life and career. Goodman urged the public to keep Giuliani in their thoughts and prayers.

Reports indicate that the 81-year-old is receiving treatment at a Florida hospital, where he has been residing for much of the time lately. However, family members and representatives have not disclosed further details regarding his illness or anticipated length of stay in the hospital.

The announcement sparked reactions from various political figures and supporters nationwide. President Trump lauded Giuliani in a social media post, calling him a “True Warrior” and referring to him as one of New York City’s greatest mayors. Trump also expressed gratitude for Giuliani’s loyalty and extensive public service.

Rudy Giuliani gained national prominence during his tenure as mayor from 1994 to 2001. His leadership following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks earned him the moniker “America’s Mayor,” as his emergency response efforts and public appearances made him a household name in U.S. politics.

Prior to his mayoral role, Giuliani served as a federal prosecutor and held the position of United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York. In the 1980s, he garnered attention for his crackdown on organized crime, financial fraud, and corruption.

In recent times, Giuliani remained entrenched in political affairs as a close legal advisor to Donald Trump, actively participating in attempts to contest the 2020 U.S. presidential election results, which led to various legal inquiries against him. Giuliani has consistently denied any misconduct.

Over the past few years, he has encountered numerous health and legal tribulations. In 2025, Giuliani was hospitalized following a serious car crash in New Hampshire that resulted in fractures and additional injuries. Bankruptcy court documents also unveiled that he had been grappling with respiratory complications linked to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

Just before this hospitalization notice, Giuliani made an appearance on his online show “America’s Mayor Live” from Florida, where viewers remarked on his weakened and hoarse voice. He himself noted that he was “a little under the weather” during the broadcast.

This latest health update has intensified concerns among his supporters, especially as Giuliani has remained actively engaged in media roles and political discourse despite his ongoing legal difficulties. Analysts suggest that Giuliani remains a pivotal figure within conservative circles due to his established connection with Trump and his historical influence in New York politics.

As of now, medical professionals have not provided public updates regarding Giuliani’s condition, nor is there an official timeline concerning his recovery. Supporters, political peers, and the general public continue to await additional news about his health status.
