KUALA LUMPUR – Police have opened an investigation after well-known Malaysian singer Nurshahila Amir Amzah, who is better known as Shila Amzah, made a police report saying she was assaulted by another popular singer during a rehearsal.

Incident Report and Police Action

The Kuala Lumpur Deputy Police Chief, Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad, confirmed that the report was made by Shila at the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters at 5.31 pm yesterday. Following her report, the police recorded statements from two people to assist with the investigation.
“So far, the person who is alleged to have assaulted Shila has not been called in for questioning. However, efforts are ongoing to obtain a statement from this individual to assist with the investigation,” he said when contacted today.

What Happened During the Incident

According to sources, the incident took place during a concert rehearsal session. Shila Amzah claimed that she was openly assaulted by the singer while practicing for the upcoming event. However, initial police investigations found that there was no physical contact or injury involved during the incident.
The authorities are investigating the case under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which deals with criminal intimidation. This means that even though there may not have been physical harm, any form of threat or intimidation is still considered a serious offence under Malaysian law.
