Singapore police have brought a murder suspect back to the crime scene in Geylang as investigations into a fatal stabbing continue. The case involves a 48-year-old man, Ong Hou Cheong, who has been charged with the killing of a 70-year-old victim.
The victim, Chow Ling Fei, suffered serious stab wounds to the chest during an altercation and later died in hospital on March 9. Authorities were first alerted to a fight in Lorong 16 Geylang at approximately 8:15 am that day.
According to reports, both individuals were known to each other, although the exact nature of their relationship has not been publicly disclosed. The suspect remained conscious after the incident and was formally charged with murder the following day.
On April 3, police escorted Ong back to the scene as part of their ongoing investigation. The reconstruction exercise took place at around 9:15 am in a private car park near the Shanyuan Ancient Buddhist Lodge, where key evidence had previously been collected.
During the visit, Ong was seen wearing a red polo shirt and black shorts, with his hands and feet restrained. Witnesses reported that he appeared mostly expressionless but occasionally gestured while responding to questions from investigators.
The session lasted roughly 20 minutes, with officers guiding the suspect through specific points of interest believed to be relevant to the case. Evidence markers were visible on the ground, indicating areas of forensic importance.
Around 20 members of the public gathered nearby to observe the proceedings from a distance. Police maintained control of the area to ensure the process was conducted without disruption.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are still ongoing as they work to establish the full sequence of events leading to the fatal incident. Further details are expected to emerge as the case progresses through legal proceedings.
