Singapore’s Housing and Development Board (HDB) is set to launch 2,520 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats with significantly shorter waiting periods as part of its June 2026 sales exercise. The move reflects the city-state’s continued efforts to improve housing accessibility and reduce waiting times for prospective homeowners.
The new flats will be spread across three residential projects located in Sembawang and Ang Mo Kio. These units form part of a larger launch of approximately 6,900 BTO flats scheduled for June, with more than one-third of the homes offering waiting periods of around three years or less.
Among the upcoming projects, Sembawang Portico will offer the shortest waiting time at approximately two years and seven months. The development will provide 875 units, including two-room flexi, three-room, four-room, and five-room flats designed to meet the needs of different household sizes.
Another project in the same area, Sembawang Brook, will contribute 1,160 units ranging from two-room flexi flats to three-generation homes. Buyers can expect a waiting period of about two years and nine months, making it one of the fastest-delivery housing projects in recent years.
In the mature estate of Ang Mo Kio, Kebun Baru Ridge will offer 485 three-room and four-room flats. The project is expected to be completed within three years and one month and will include community amenities such as a minimart and an eatery, enhancing convenience for future residents.
The shorter waiting periods highlight the recovery of Singapore’s public housing construction sector after disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic years, many projects faced delays that pushed waiting times to between four and five years, creating challenges for homebuyers.
According to HDB, the median waiting time for new BTO projects has now fallen below four years. The latest launch demonstrates Singapore’s commitment to increasing housing supply, improving project delivery timelines, and helping more families achieve home ownership sooner.
