The Thai government has announced comprehensive preparations to manage the surge in travel during the Songkran holiday, aiming to ensure convenience, safety, and affordability for millions of travelers. Authorities have taken steps to address public concerns over rising costs, fuel availability, and transport efficiency.
Officials confirmed that public transport fares will remain unchanged throughout the holiday period to ease the financial burden on commuters. At the same time, fuel supplies are being strengthened nationwide, with coordination between transport agencies and energy providers to ensure sufficient reserves at key transit hubs.
To prevent disruptions, authorities are also using real-time GPS tracking to monitor more than 5,700 fuel transport trucks. This system is designed to ensure timely fuel deliveries and avoid shortages along major travel routes during the high-demand period.
The government expects a significant rise in travel between April 10 and 19, with millions of vehicles and public transport trips projected. Officials have urged citizens to plan their journeys in advance to reduce congestion and improve safety, while assuring that all systems are in place for a smooth and secure travel experience.
