Trump Unveils White House Ballroom Addition Fully Privately Funded

Trump Unveils White House Ballroom Addition Fully Privately Funded

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Washington, October 24, 2025 – President Donald Trump has unveiled plans for what he calls the “most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world,” a $300 million addition to the White House. The project, he says, will be fully funded by private donors and his own money, with no cost to taxpayers.

During a presentation in the Oval Office, Trump revealed a scale model of the new White House ballroom. He said the project has already raised $350 million, exceeding the initial $300 million estimate. “All donor money and money that we put up, we’ve raised,” Trump said. “It’s going to be… the most beautiful ballroom anywhere in the world.”

When asked about his personal contribution, Trump smiled, saying, “I won’t be able to tell you until I finish, but I’ll donate whatever is needed… Oh, millions of dollars. Yeah.”

The new White House ballroom, sometimes referred to as the Trump Ballroom, will replace the current East Wing structure. Renderings show chandeliers, grand staircases, and arched windows. The design is neoclassical, similar to Mar-a-Lago, reflecting Trump’s long-standing interest in luxurious interiors and high-profile legacy projects.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “This will be a magnificent addition to the White House for many years to come — and it’s not costing taxpayers anything.” She emphasized that the project is legally sound and privately financed.

Leavitt explained that demolitions on White House grounds do not require review by the National Capital Planning Commission, and only vertical construction submissions need approval. A donor list has already been released, with more contributors expected. One anonymous donor has written a $130 million check to cover any shortfalls.

Trump described the ballroom as part of his broader effort to restore the White House. “This house was a little bit abandoned,” he said. “I spent millions of dollars on this building, taking care of it. And now it’s starting to gleam like it should.”

The president has already funded upgrades to the Palm Room, including new marble flooring and chandeliers. Critics have called the ballroom a vanity project, but Trump and his team maintain it is an act of stewardship. Leavitt told reporters, “Trust the process. It’s going to be magnificent.”
