The UAE's Ministry of Defence has announced that its air defense systems successfully neutralized several missiles and drones launched from Iran, amidst rising tensions in the region. These proactive measures ensured no direct threat to citizens or essential infrastructure.
Residents in cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain reported hearing loud noises, which were attributed to the air defense systems engaging the incoming projectiles, not explosions. Officials assured that all mapped threats were dealt with prior to inflicting harm.
Following the alerts, residents received emergency SMS notifications encouraging them to find shelter and stay away from windows and doors. A subsequent nationwide communication confirmed that matters were under control, allowing the public to return to their usual routines.
The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, along with the Ministry of Interior, urged the public to remain informed through official communication channels and adhere to safety protocols. They reassured that the defense systems are fully operational, maintaining vigilance to safeguard the country's airspace amid continuing developments in the region.
