Sprinter Arwa Ali displayed her remarkable talent by qualifying for the final of the women’s 100m race, achieving a new Games record for the second time with a remarkable time of 11.66 seconds. Aisha Mohammed shone in the middle-distance sprints, securing her place in the final of the women’s 400m with a winning heat time of 54.42 seconds. Meanwhile, Saeed Omar maintained his impressive form in the men’s 400m, clinching his heat in 47.53 seconds and proving his worth on the international athletics scene.
The UAE national golf team also made their mark in the initial round of individual events. Mohammed Thabet finished with a score of 79, followed by Abdullah Salmeen with 92 and Marwan Al Emadi at 95. In the girls’ individual category, both Sarah Abubakar and Asya Saleem recorded scores of 72, while Anka Mateo wrapped up her round with 75, showcasing the burgeoning talent among UAE youth golfers.
In team competitions, the UAE youth golf squad amassed a total score of 171, positioning them in 14th place after the first round. The girls’ team excelled with a combined score of 144, securing an impressive eighth overall.
