Post by : Badri Ariffin

A collaborative team from the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), AD Ports Group, and other government organizations, in partnership with the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi (ADCMC), visited Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) recently.

The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the health status of individuals impacted by the recent Iranian assaults on Abu Dhabi, ensuring ongoing monitoring and reviewing the collaboration among the relevant authorities.

Led by His Excellency Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, along with Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports, officials were informed about procedures that cover emergency responses and ongoing patient management.

The team examined a comprehensive operational framework designed to enable quick interventions and effective resource distribution, responding to changing needs. They also discussed pathways for coordination among health services, ambulances, and security agencies, alongside contingency strategies to ensure service continuity amidst evolving challenges.

Dr Abdulla Humaid Al Jarwan asserted that the agile response highlights Abu Dhabi's strong institutional framework. He noted that the healthcare system is proactive, safeguarding service continuity while readying the emirate for potential challenges.

He remarked:
"In the UAE, we stand united as one community. Assisting the injured is our national and humanitarian responsibility. Today's initiatives show our leadership and the profound humanitarian values we uphold."

He also mentioned the Unified Medical Operations Command Centre as a central hub for managing resources and coordinating efforts to maintain healthcare services during exceptional circumstances.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi highlighted that the collaborative effort among various government entities exemplifies an effective crisis management model. The AD Ports Group continues to enhance national and local frameworks, utilizing its logistics capabilities to bolster supply chain resilience and ensure an effective response to ongoing challenges.

At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation extended wishes for a swift recovery to all involved and emphasized the need for ongoing collaboration. They reiterated the importance of adapting operational strategies, synergizing roles, and maintaining responsive and flexible operations across various scenarios.
