UAE's Humanitarian Flight Delivers 100 Tonnes of Aid to Gaza

UAE's Humanitarian Flight Delivers 100 Tonnes of Aid to Gaza

Post by : Badri Ariffin

A humanitarian flight from Sharjah International Airport has successfully delivered 100 tonnes of vital food supplies to the Gaza Strip, marking a significant advance in the UAE's relief mission.

This operation is part of the “Humaid Air Bridge” initiative, which is supported by Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi and coordinated with the humanitarian effort dubbed Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.

Relief officials emphasized that the purpose of this initiative is to alleviate the mounting challenges faced by countless families in Gaza, where humanitarian conditions are deteriorating. The efforts extend beyond mere food provisions.

Included in this initiative is the setup of a UAE field hospital along with a floating medical facility located in Egypt's Al Arish, with a total capacity of 100 beds manned by skilled medical teams. Furthermore, six desalination plants have been constructed to ensure a reliable supply of clean drinking water.

Officials noted that the UAE's cumulative humanitarian support to Gaza has surpassed 122,000 tonnes, valued at more than $3 billion, illustrating the scale and ongoing nature of assistance.

The International Charity Organisation is also actively involved, coordinating air and sea missions to deliver essential relief supplies to those in need.

Additionally, to bolster these efforts, an aid ship loaded with food and supplies valued at over AED 8 million is set to launch under Ajman's humanitarian projects.

The UAE continues to broaden its relief initiatives through integrated air and sea logistic channels, reaffirming its dedication to supporting those affected in Gaza during the persistent crisis.
