The United Arab Emirates has dispatched its sixth humanitarian aid shipment to Afghanistan, reinforcing its commitment to assist communities affected by recent earthquakes.
This latest delivery boosts the UAE's total aid to Afghanistan to over 250.3 tonnes, transported via seven aircraft and 21 trucks. The new shipment includes 6,696 food baskets, 1,030 tents, 850 blankets, and a 28-tonne shipment of dates intended for distribution among the affected population.
In Samangan province, aid workers distributed 1,188 food baskets, 450 tents, and 850 blankets to provide immediate relief for those who lost their homes and livelihoods due to the disaster. Additionally, a seventh flight carrying more dates has just arrived to assist in the recovery effort.
This humanitarian initiative is driven by the directives of the UAE’s leadership, reflecting the country's steadfast commitment to aiding communities stricken by natural disasters globally. The UAE remains a key player in international humanitarian response, ensuring timely aid and logistical support in crisis situations.
