UAE, Morocco Sign MOU to Strengthen Anti-Corruption and Public Fund Safeguards

Post by : Rameen Ariff

The United Arab Emirates and Morocco have taken a major step to enhance collaboration in combating corruption and safeguarding public funds. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Humaid Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA), and Mohamed Benallilou, President of Morocco’s National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and Combating of Bribery.

The signing ceremony, held at the UAEAA headquarters in Abu Dhabi, highlighted the UAE’s dedication to international cooperation and the promotion of good governance and integrity. The agreement establishes a framework for exchanging expertise, best practices, and technical knowledge in preventing bribery, corruption, and financial mismanagement.

This partnership aligns with the UAE’s strategic vision of fostering global collaboration to strengthen transparency and accountability in public institutions. By sharing resources and experiences, both countries aim to build robust systems to protect public funds and uphold ethical governance standards.

Officials from both nations emphasized that the MOU reinforces their shared commitment to integrity and sustainable development. The collaboration is expected to enhance the capabilities of oversight authorities in detecting, preventing, and addressing financial misconduct while promoting a culture of accountability.

The UAE-Morocco agreement represents a proactive step toward creating a global framework for anti-corruption initiatives, supporting regional stability, and contributing to the advancement of transparent governance worldwide.
