US F‑15 Jets Downed in Kuwait Friendly Fire Incident

US F‑15 Jets Downed in Kuwait Friendly Fire Incident

Post by : Shakul

Three US F-15E ‘Strike Eagle’ fighter jets were shot down over Kuwait on Monday in separate friendly fire incidents involving Kuwaiti air defences, according to the United States Central Command (CENTCOM). All six aircrew members — two per aircraft — ejected safely and were recovered in stable condition. Kuwait has acknowledged the incident and confirmed their role in the accidental shoot-down.

The incidents occurred amidst heightened tensions in the Gulf region following missile and drone attacks launched by Iran in retaliation for ongoing US-Israel strikes on Iranian military and regime targets. Explosions were reported across major Gulf cities as Tehran continued its military response, surprising observers with the scale of operations.

Visuals widely shared on social media showed one of the F-15Es spiralling down slowly with flames from its rear, followed by pilots ejecting safely. The US-Israel strikes have already resulted in escalating conflict across West Asia, with Iran-backed groups like Hezbollah participating in the hostilities.

In addition to the military impact, civilian areas experienced disruptions. Dubai Airport was temporarily shut down, and Iranian missiles struck a luxury hotel, while Tehran claimed a US-Israel strike hit a school in Minab, resulting in over 160 civilian deaths, including children. The friendly fire incident highlights the heightened risks of military operations in an already volatile region.
