US Hits Iran Sites With 5000lb Bombs

US Hits Iran Sites With 5000lb Bombs

Post by : Shakul

The US Central Command confirmed that American forces carried out precision strikes on Iranian missile sites near the Strait of Hormuz, using powerful 5,000-pound bunker-buster bombs. The operation targeted fortified coastal positions believed to house anti-ship cruise missiles that posed a threat to international shipping routes.

These “deep penetrator” munitions are designed to destroy heavily protected underground facilities, indicating that the strikes were aimed at Iran’s hardened missile infrastructure. The move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict involving United States, Iran and regional tensions linked to the broader Middle East crisis.

The Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route, has been severely disrupted amid the conflict, with shipping activity nearly halted. The US action appears aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to target vessels and potentially reopening the vital energy corridor that handles a significant share of the world’s oil supply.

Donald Trump has urged allied nations to support efforts to secure the strait, but several countries have declined to participate. Despite limited international backing, the US has indicated it is prepared to act independently, warning of stronger responses if disruptions to global energy flows continue.

The situation remains highly volatile, with fears that further escalation could impact global oil prices and international trade routes in the coming days.
