The US government has unveiled a comprehensive response package totaling $150 million aimed at aiding Venezuelans affected by recent earthquakes.
In the wake of these devastating tremors, the US has stepped up with significant financial assistance, deployed search and rescue teams, and collaborated with the interim Venezuelan government to tackle urgent humanitarian needs.
$100 Million Allocated to OCHA, $50 Million to Local Partners
The State Department indicates that out of the total package, $100 million is earmarked for the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The remaining $50 million is designated for new bilateral funding for local humanitarian organizations working directly in Venezuela.
This funding is intended to boost emergency relief efforts and enhance the coordination of aid services for communities affected by the earthquakes.
