The National Assembly of Vietnam has elected To Lam as the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam for the 2026–2031 term. The decision was passed unanimously, with all 495 delegates voting in favor during the session.
Following the approval, President To Lam took the oath of office, pledging loyalty to the nation, the people, and the Constitution. In his address, he emphasized his commitment to fulfilling responsibilities entrusted by the Party, the State, and citizens.
The National Assembly is also proceeding with the election of the Prime Minister through a secret ballot. Key discussions are underway regarding the government structure and the selection of top leadership positions, including Vice President and judicial heads.
The ongoing session reflects a significant phase in Vietnam’s political process, as the Assembly continues to finalize leadership roles for the new term. Further announcements are expected following the completion of voting and approval procedures.
