Controversial Remarks by Wiles on Musk, Vance, and Epstein Files

Controversial Remarks by Wiles on Musk, Vance, and Epstein Files

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a provocative interview with Vanity Fair, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has ignited a new wave of political discussion, making pointed comments about several prominent figures close to President Donald Trump.

Wiles described Tesla's Elon Musk as an “avowed” ketamine user, though she later clarified that she lacks direct evidence of such behavior. Reflecting on Musk's unpredictable leadership style during his time at the helm of the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency, Wiles noted that Musk often made rapid decisions that led to the sudden termination of government programs, including initiatives run by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). She expressed her shock at these closures and confronted Musk regarding programs that had President Trump’s backing.

Musk has vehemently denied ongoing ketamine usage, asserting that he only experimented with it under prescription a long time ago. Neither Musk nor Tesla has responded to the latest controversy surrounding Wiles’ comments.

Critique of Senior Officials

Wiles didn’t stop at Musk; she also criticized Vice President JD Vance, labeling him a “conspiracy theorist,” and described budget chief Russ Vought as a “right-wing absolute zealot.”

Commenting on Vance's transformation from a critic to an ally of Trump, Wiles suggested that his shift was mostly motivated by politics to support his Senate ambitions. Vance has mentioned that his endorsement of Trump solidified after recognizing the president as “the right person to save the country.”

Critique of Epstein Files Handling

Wiles also criticized Attorney General Pam Bondi for her management of the so-called Epstein files. She expressed disappointment over the initial phase release, stating that it offered no new revelations. Moreover, Wiles strongly refuted claims regarding the existence of a client list linked to Epstein, emphasizing that President Trump’s name within those files is not associated with any illicit activities.

White House Reaction

In response to the ensuing uproar, the White House acted swiftly to manage the ramifications. Wiles stated on social media that her comments were taken out of context and labeled the article as a “disingenuously framed hit piece.” Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt assured the public of Wiles’ loyalty, portraying her as one of President Trump’s most trusted advisers.

Internal Political Dynamics

Wiles also addressed the internal strife regarding Trump’s tariff policy, which has stirred market fluctuations. She acknowledged the significant divisions within the administration, describing the policy’s implementation as “more painful than anticipated.”

Polling data highlights a drop in approval ratings for President Trump, with mounting concerns from voters about economic stability and the unpredictability of policy decisions.
