CMA Concludes Inaugural Winter Media Camp in Al Ain

CMA Concludes Inaugural Winter Media Camp in Al Ain

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Creative Media Authority (CMA) has successfully wrapped up its inaugural Winter Media Camp for the Al Ain region, representing a significant step in fostering young creative talent throughout the emirate.

Taking place from December 8 to 12 at the Qattara Arts Centre, this camp, conducted in Arabic, aimed to immerse children in various spheres of the creative media industry. Participants enjoyed a hands-on learning experience that nurtured creativity, imagination, and practical skills through age-appropriate activities.

This edition welcomed 31 participants aged 8 to 12, providing them with an early opportunity to delve into storytelling, visual arts, and other interactive creative fields. Guided workshops enabled attendees to acquire essential skills while unleashing their creative abilities in a collaborative and engaging atmosphere.

In partnership with a range of collaborators including Creative Lab, CMA’s talent development division, the camp featured a variety of activities such as a storytelling workshop led by Sandstorm Studio, a short story writing course facilitated by Abu Dhabi Media Network – Majid, and several creative sessions hosted by Qattara Arts Centre that highlighted Arabic calligraphy, drawing, and bubble painting.

The Winter Media Camp serves as one of CMA's initiatives aimed at nurturing talent based in Abu Dhabi from an early stage. With its fifth installment set for 2025, this program's expansion into Al Ain underscores CMA’s dedication to enhancing access to creative learning opportunities within the emirate while motivating the upcoming generation to explore careers in creative industries.
