Amirudin Claims Gaza Aid Boat Sabotaged

Amirudin Claims Gaza Aid Boat Sabotaged

Post by : Shakul

Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has claimed that a boat meant for a humanitarian mission to Gaza was allegedly sabotaged and sunk before the delegation could begin its final journey. The incident reportedly occurred before the vessel departed, raising fresh concerns surrounding the safety of international aid flotilla missions linked to Gaza.

Amirudin, who is leading the Malaysian Emergency Aid Mission to Gaza, said he was originally scheduled to join the final leg of the humanitarian voyage. However, according to him, the boat was allegedly identified and targeted before the mission could proceed.

Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur, Amirudin claimed the vessel was deliberately sunk and described the incident as an act of sabotage. He alleged that parties connected to the Israeli regime may have been responsible, although no official evidence has yet been publicly released regarding the claim.

The Selangor leader also stated that there had allegedly been two separate sabotage incidents connected to the humanitarian mission, including one near Greek waters and another close to Turkey. The comments came shortly after reports emerged that activists linked to a Gaza-bound flotilla had been detained and later released by Israeli authorities.

Amirudin said 29 Malaysian activists involved in the mission are expected to return home by the end of the week. Representatives from Malaysian humanitarian organisations have reportedly travelled to receive the group following their release.

He further alleged that some detained activists faced physical pressure and mistreatment after being intercepted in international waters. According to him, the humanitarian mission remains committed to drawing international attention toward the ongoing humanitarian situation in Gaza despite the setbacks and risks faced by participants.

Amirudin stressed that efforts to deliver humanitarian aid and raise global awareness about conditions in Gaza would continue. He also revealed that Malaysia is awaiting final confirmation regarding 20 containers of humanitarian assistance that are expected to enter Gaza soon.

The alleged sabotage claims have triggered wider discussions online regarding the safety of humanitarian flotilla missions and growing tensions surrounding aid operations connected to Gaza.
