Eco Tour Held at Amu Darya Nature Reserve

Eco Tour Held at Amu Darya Nature Reserve

Post by : Shakul

A two-day eco-tourism event was successfully organized at the Amu Darya State Nature Reserve in Turkmenistan, bringing together young participants to promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices.

The event was conducted by the “Young Naturekeeper” public organization as part of a project supported by the United Nations Development Programme and the Global Environment Facility, focusing on conservation and sustainable management of ecosystems in the Aral Sea region.

The primary aim of the initiative was to enhance ecological literacy among young people and encourage a responsible attitude toward nature. Participants explored the reserve and gained firsthand knowledge about the region’s unique ecosystems.

During the tour, experts guided the participants through coastal forest areas, introducing them to rare bird species and diverse wildlife found in the reserve. The experience helped deepen their understanding of biodiversity and environmental conservation.

The program also emphasized practical learning, highlighting modern approaches to nature protection and promoting environmentally sustainable lifestyles, including eco-friendly food habits.

One of the participants, Bahargul Kuliyeva, a volunteer with the organization, shared that the eco-tour helped her better understand the importance of protecting nature and inspired her to contribute to environmental preservation.

At the conclusion of the event, active participants were awarded certificates of appreciation, recognizing their involvement and commitment to environmental awareness.

Organizers stated that such initiatives play a vital role in building ecological culture among youth and motivating them to take part in future conservation efforts to protect natural resources and ecosystems.
