BTS Urges Passengers to Control Hair During Peak Hours

BTS Urges Passengers to Control Hair During Peak Hours

Post by : Shakul

Bangkok — The operator of the BTS Skytrain has issued a public advisory asking passengers to keep their hair under control while travelling, especially during peak hours, to ensure a comfortable and respectful commuting environment.

The appeal follows concerns that passengers with long, loose hair may unintentionally strike fellow commuters in crowded trains, potentially hitting faces, eyes, shoulders or mouths. The advisory urges passengers to hold or secure their hair when turning, walking through carriages, boarding, or alighting from trains.

In a social media message, the operator encouraged commuters to practice greater awareness and courtesy, stressing that small actions can significantly improve the travel experience for everyone.

The reminder is part of a broader push by BTS to reinforce public transport etiquette across its network. Passengers are also advised to hold handrails or poles, offer priority seating to monks, elderly passengers, pregnant women, children and persons with disabilities, and to keep personal belongings secure.

The Skytrain operator further reiterated rules prohibiting eating and drinking inside carriages, blocking doors or aisles, and leaning against train doors. On platforms, passengers are asked to queue behind the yellow line, allow others to exit first, and avoid running or pushing.

BTS officials said these measures aim to foster a safer, cleaner and more considerate public transport culture in one of Asia’s busiest urban rail systems.
