Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania have agreed to send troops to Gaza under a newly proposed international stabilisation plan. The announcement was made during a meeting of the Board of Peace led by US President Donald Trump in Washington on February 19, 2026.
US Army General Jasper Jeffers, appointed to lead the planned International Stabilization Force, said Indonesia will play a key role in the mission and has accepted the position of deputy commander. He stated that the deployment aims to help restore security and stability in Gaza after months of intense conflict.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto said his country is prepared to contribute up to 8,000 personnel to support peace efforts. Kazakhstan has also pledged troops, including medical units, while Morocco has said it is ready to deploy police officers to assist with security operations.
Albania confirmed it would contribute troops, and neighbouring countries Egypt and Jordan said they would support the mission by training Palestinian police officers. Indonesia has clarified that its forces will focus on humanitarian assistance, civilian protection, reconstruction, and police training, and will not be involved in combat operations.
The plan has drawn mixed reactions, with some rights groups and Palestinian voices expressing concern that the initiative could reinforce existing occupation structures rather than lead to lasting peace. Despite these concerns, participating countries say the mission is intended to stabilise Gaza and support humanitarian and security needs during the post-war period.
