Rapid Rail Clarifies Morning Kelana Jaya LRT Withdrawals Were Routine Repairs

Rapid Rail Clarifies Morning Kelana Jaya LRT Withdrawals Were Routine Repairs

Post by : Shakul

KUALA LUMPUR — Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd has clarified that the morning withdrawals of multiple Kelana Jaya LRT trains on 27 February 2026 were part of routine operational and safety procedures, not a service disruption.

The operator addressed public concern after social media posts reported four separate train withdrawals within three hours, affecting stations including Gombak and Masjid Jamek. Rapid Rail emphasized that all train services continued to operate according to their scheduled peak-hour frequencies without unusual congestion.

According to the company, temporarily removing trains is a proactive measure for minor repairs, such as air conditioning or onboard system maintenance, aimed at ensuring passenger comfort and safety. Replacement trains are immediately deployed to maintain normal headways and service reliability.

Rapid Rail noted that the public alarm stemmed from a misunderstanding of its communication strategy, which posts real-time alerts about operational adjustments to maintain transparency. The operator stressed that these updates should not be interpreted as service disruptions, reaffirming its commitment to safe, reliable, and efficient transit operations under the Rapid KL brand.
