A second fatal fall has been reported at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 within the same day, raising concerns about safety at the busy travel hub. Authorities have confirmed that the latest victim was a 30 year old foreign man.
According to police, the incident occurred late in the evening when the man is believed to have fallen from a height at the airport terminal. The fall reportedly happened from an external balcony area at KLIA2.
Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene and provided immediate medical assistance. The injured man was then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Despite efforts by medical staff, the victim later died at the hospital during the early hours of the morning. Officials confirmed that he passed away several hours after the incident.
Police identified the victim as an Algerian national. The case has been officially recorded as a sudden death report, and investigations are currently ongoing to determine the exact cause of the fall.
Authorities have urged members of the public who may have witnessed the incident or have any information to come forward and assist with the investigation. The police are working to gather all relevant details.
This incident follows another fatal fall reported earlier the same day at the same airport. In that case, a foreign woman also lost her life after falling from a different level of the terminal.
The occurrence of two similar incidents within a short period has raised questions about safety measures and monitoring at the airport. Officials may review current systems to prevent such incidents in the future.
Overall, the situation has drawn attention to the need for increased vigilance in public spaces. Authorities continue to investigate both cases to understand the circumstances and ensure safety for travelers.
