Popular K-pop girl group Le Sserafim has officially returned with their second full-length album “Pureflow Pt. 1,” marking a new chapter in their musical journey. Released on May 22, the album reflects a more emotional and mature side of the group as they rethink the meaning of being fearless after three successful years in the industry.
The five-member group, known for their strong performances and bold image, debuted with the idea of fearlessness. However, in this new project, the members explain that true strength comes not from hiding fear, but from accepting it and growing through it. The album carries the message, “For we are not fearless, and therefore powerful,” which has already resonated strongly with fans worldwide.
During recent interviews in Seoul, member Huh Yunjin shared that the group’s understanding of fear has changed over time. According to her, fear and anxiety are natural emotions, and accepting them can help people become stronger and more confident. This emotional honesty has become one of the central themes of the album.
The 11-track album features different music styles and creative experiments. The title track “Boompala” stands out with its energetic Latin house sound and samples from the famous 1993 hit song “Macarena.” Member Sakura explained that using the classic sample gave the group confidence and helped create a fun and positive atmosphere for listeners.
Le Sserafim members were also more deeply involved in the album’s creative process this time. Kazuha participated in songwriting for the first time through the track “Trust Exercise,” showing the group’s growing artistic confidence. She explained that while their first album focused mainly on moving forward, this project allowed the members to think carefully about the image and message they truly wanted to present.
The group hopes the album’s message of vulnerability and courage will comfort listeners facing their own struggles. Member Hong Eunchae said everyone experiences fear and hardship in life, and she wants fans to feel encouraged knowing that even idols face difficult emotions and challenges.
Fans, known as Fearnot, have welcomed the comeback warmly across social media platforms. Many listeners praised the group for showing a more honest and relatable side while still maintaining their signature powerful performances and stylish visuals.
With “Pureflow Pt. 1,” Le Sserafim proves they are continuing to grow not only as performers but also as artists willing to explore deeper emotions and meaningful stories through music. The album is already being seen as one of the group’s most personal and mature projects so far.
