Aaron Chia and M. Thinaah are set to lead Malaysia’s charge at the 2026 Thomas and Uber Cup Finals, which will be held in Horsens, Denmark from April 24 to May 3. The announcement has been confirmed by the Badminton Association of Malaysia.
Both players bring valuable experience to their respective teams, having participated in multiple editions of the tournament. Officials believe their leadership and stability will play a key role in Malaysia’s performance on the global stage.
In the men’s Thomas Cup squad, Lee Zii Jia is expected to be a crucial singles player alongside Leong Jun Hao, Justin Hoh, and Aidil Sholeh. The doubles lineup includes strong pairings such as Aaron Chia with Soh Wooi Yik, as well as Man Wei Chong with Tee Kai Wun.
Malaysia’s men’s team will compete in Group B, where they will face tough opponents including Japan, England, and Finland. The matches are expected to be highly competitive as teams battle for a place in the knockout stages.
On the women’s side, the Uber Cup team will be led by M. Thinaah in doubles, alongside teammates such as Chong Jie Yu, Ong Xin Yee, and Carmen Ting. The singles lineup includes players like K Letshanaa, Wong Ling Ching, Siti Zulaikha Azmi, and Goh Jin Wei.
The Malaysian squad aims to deliver a strong performance in both competitions, with a mix of experienced players and emerging talents. The tournament provides a major opportunity for the team to showcase its strength against top badminton nations.
With preparations in place and confidence building within the squad, Malaysia will be looking to make a significant impact at the Thomas and Uber Cup Finals and potentially secure a place among the world’s top teams.
