Airlines around the world are continuing to cancel and reroute flights across the Middle East as the ongoing Iran conflict creates major disruption in international aviation. Several carriers have suspended operations to key regional hubs including Dubai, Tel Aviv, Doha, Beirut, Riyadh, and Abu Dhabi due to security concerns and airspace risks.
The aviation crisis has forced airlines to avoid major flight corridors connecting Europe and Asia through the Gulf region. Many airlines are now operating longer alternative routes to bypass sensitive airspace over Iran, Iraq, Syria, and nearby conflict zones.
European, Asian, and North American carriers have announced extended suspensions for multiple destinations. Air France, KLM, Lufthansa Group, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, Air Canada, and Cathay Pacific are among the airlines that have reduced or halted services to parts of the Middle East.
Several Gulf routes remain heavily affected. Flights to Dubai have been suspended by multiple international airlines until late summer or even October. Tel Aviv services also remain disrupted as security conditions continue to impact airline operations across Israel and neighboring countries.
Airlines say passenger safety remains the highest priority as geopolitical tensions continue to escalate. Aviation experts warn that the conflict has increased operational costs for carriers because of longer flight paths, additional fuel consumption, and scheduling disruptions.
Some airlines have started slowly restoring limited operations where conditions allow. Aegean Airlines plans to resume selected flights to Tel Aviv, while Qatar Airways is expanding parts of its international network. However, many carriers remain cautious and continue monitoring the regional security situation closely.
The ongoing crisis has also affected global tourism and business travel. Airports in major transit hubs are experiencing schedule adjustments, while passengers face delays, cancellations, and rising ticket prices on alternative routes between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Industry analysts believe the aviation sector could continue facing instability if tensions in the region remain unresolved. The closure or restriction of important air corridors has already become one of the largest disruptions to international air travel in recent years.
