The Sultanate of Oman has delivered a strong global performance in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) 2025 released by the World Bank, highlighting the country’s rapid progress in logistics efficiency, trade facilitation, and transport connectivity.
The report places Oman among the top-performing countries worldwide in multiple logistics categories, reinforcing its growing role as a key regional and international trade hub in the Gulf region.
According to the index, Oman ranked first globally in the “Starting an Export Supply Chain” indicator, achieving a record processing time of just 0.8 days. This reflects highly efficient port operations and streamlined export procedures.
Oman also secured the ninth global position in the “Import Supply Chain Completion” category, which evaluates how quickly imported goods move from entry points to end users and return flows.
Regionally, Oman ranked second in the Gulf in export container dwell time efficiency at ports, and third in direct shipping connectivity, showing strong maritime integration with global trade routes.
In addition, Oman placed 25th globally in the “Shipping Alliances” index and second in the Gulf, reflecting increased cooperation between international shipping companies and expanded maritime networks.
The country also ranked 39th globally in “Direct Maritime Connection Partners,” strengthening its access to international markets through regular shipping lines and global logistics partnerships.
In the postal and delivery sector, Oman achieved 16th place globally and first in the Gulf in “Business Mail Delivery Time,” highlighting the speed and reliability of commercial postal services.
Officials noted that these achievements reflect continuous national efforts to upgrade ports, improve logistics infrastructure, and modernize customs and transport systems across the country.
The World Bank’s Logistics Performance Index evaluates countries based on speed, reliability, connectivity, and operational efficiency across maritime, air, and postal services, using real shipment data for accuracy.
Oman’s strong performance in the 2025 index further strengthens its position as a leading global logistics hub, supporting economic diversification, foreign investment, and international trade growth.
