Thailand’s Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, for an official visit focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, expanding economic partnerships, and enhancing regional collaboration. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul, and a high-level delegation, the Prime Minister landed at Noi Bai International Airport on June 8 and immediately began a packed schedule of official engagements.
Upon arrival, the Thai delegation was welcomed by Vietnam’s Minister of Ethnicity and Religious Affairs, Nguyen Dinh Khang, who served as the honorary representative of the host government. The visit highlights the strong and growing relationship between Thailand and Vietnam, two key economic and political partners within Southeast Asia.
The Prime Minister’s first engagements focused on economic cooperation. He met with Thai business leaders operating in Vietnam and witnessed the exchange of cooperation agreements between private sector representatives from both countries. These discussions are expected to support new investment opportunities and strengthen commercial links between Thai and Vietnamese enterprises.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Anutin held meetings with leading Vietnamese business representatives to exchange views on trade, investment, and economic connectivity. Both sides explored ways to increase bilateral commerce, encourage cross-border investment, and create new opportunities for sustainable economic growth.
The official program also included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Bac Son Martyrs’ Monument and a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Following these commemorative activities, the Prime Minister attended an official welcoming ceremony at the Government Palace before participating in plenary talks with senior Vietnamese leaders. Additional meetings included a courtesy call on the Chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly and a state dinner hosted by the Vietnamese Prime Minister.
On June 9, the Prime Minister is scheduled to participate in the 3rd ASEAN Future Forum, where regional leaders and policymakers will discuss emerging opportunities and challenges facing Southeast Asia. The forum aims to strengthen ASEAN cooperation and identify strategies for future regional development and stability.
The visit will conclude with the Thailand–Vietnam Investment and Business Forum, organized by Thailand’s Board of Investment. Through discussions with key business leaders and policymakers, the forum seeks to deepen trade and investment ties between the two nations. Officials expect the visit to deliver practical outcomes that will further strengthen economic cooperation, regional connectivity, and long-term diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam.
