Thailand’s government has intensified its nationwide anti-corruption campaign by strengthening cooperation between public agencies and the private sector to improve transparency, accountability and governance systems across the country.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a high-level meeting at Government House in Bangkok on May 20, 2026, focused on integrating public-private cooperation in efforts to prevent and suppress corruption. The meeting included officials, business representatives and members of the Zero Corruption Working Group network.
During the discussions, the Prime Minister accepted a six-point anti-corruption proposal submitted by the private sector and instructed all related agencies to improve internal mechanisms, open data systems and coordination with anti-corruption organizations. He also praised business groups for openly identifying corruption as a major obstacle to economic and administrative development.
The proposals included building long-term anti-corruption awareness, strengthening governance policies in government agencies and businesses, improving corruption risk management systems and increasing access to transparent public information. The recommendations also promoted the use of Big Data and artificial intelligence technology to detect suspicious activities and support real-time monitoring.
Prime Minister Anutin emphasized that all government agencies must inspect operations at every stage to ensure accountability and strict legal compliance. He also directed departments to use modern digital systems to improve public services, reduce unnecessary delays and increase transparency in administrative processes.
The Thai government is continuing to expand its “Open Government” initiative by linking information systems for verification and public disclosure of government data. Officials believe this mechanism will help reduce discretionary decision-making and strengthen public confidence in state institutions.
Business representatives attending the meeting thanked the government for creating a platform for open discussions and praised the administration for quickly responding to complaints and suggestions. They said stronger cooperation between the government and private sector could help create long-term structural reforms against corruption.
Officials added that Thailand remains committed to improving governance standards in line with international principles and OECD guidelines while developing a more transparent and accountable bureaucratic system nationwide.
