Thailand Pushes New Education Law Under All for Education

Thailand Pushes New Education Law Under All for Education

Post by : Shakul

Thailand's Minister of Education, Prasert Chantharawongthong, visited Prang Ku School in Sisaket Province on June 22 to review the implementation of educational policies and gather feedback from educators, administrators and students. The visit focused on improving education quality and preparing a new National Education Act that reflects the needs of communities across the country.

The minister met with school officials under the Sisaket-Yasothon Secondary Educational Service Area Office and observed student projects and educational exhibitions. He emphasized the importance of listening to local voices before finalizing future education reforms.

Five Key Education Reform Priorities

Prasert outlined five major policy priorities under the "All for Education" framework. These include reducing administrative burdens on teachers, addressing educational inequality, modernizing learning methods, strengthening school safety and creating a new educational structure through legislative reform.

He stated that education reform must focus on developing human capital and preparing students with skills needed for the future while ensuring equal opportunities for all learners.

Reducing Teacher Workload

One of the government's major objectives is to reduce unnecessary paperwork and administrative responsibilities that take teachers away from classrooms. The ministry has already removed several redundant projects and plans to assess the effectiveness of these changes.

According to the minister, teachers should spend more time teaching and supporting students rather than completing excessive documentation and reporting requirements.

Technology To Improve Education Management

The Ministry of Education is also expanding the use of technology to streamline operations and improve educational services. Plans include developing a centralized database system that connects educational information nationwide.

Officials are also working with the Ministry of Interior to introduce digital systems for monitoring school lunch programs and managing nutrition standards more efficiently.

Safe Schools Remain A Priority

Prasert praised the success of safety initiatives implemented across more than 190 schools in the Sisaket Primary Educational Service Area 3. These programs use technology-based monitoring and reporting systems to provide rapid support and ensure student safety.

He noted that Sisaket's border location provides unique opportunities to develop innovative educational models that strengthen 21st-century skills and practical learning experiences.

New Education Act Moving Forward

The minister confirmed that the government plans to submit the draft National Education Act to Parliament in December 2026. He invited feedback from all sectors to ensure the legislation serves as a comprehensive framework for Thailand's education system.

The proposed law is expected to provide greater curriculum flexibility and allow schools to adapt learning approaches according to local needs and circumstances.

Building Education For Everyone

Concluding the visit, Prasert thanked educators, administrators and students for sharing their views. He said all recommendations would be considered as part of the ministry's effort to create an inclusive education system under the "All for Education" vision.

The government believes that collaboration among schools, communities and policymakers will be essential for building a stronger and more effective education system for future generations.
