Thailand’s Department of Labour Protection and Welfare has officially launched the “End Child Labour 2026” campaign as part of the country’s efforts to eliminate child labour and protect children’s rights. The nationwide awareness drive will run throughout June and aims to encourage participation from businesses, schools, students, employers, and the general public.
Rear Admiral Saroj Khomkai, Director-General of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, stated that the campaign is being organized in connection with World Day Against Child Labour, which is observed every year on June 12. Authorities hope the initiative will strengthen public awareness and encourage all sectors of society to work together in creating a child labour-free Thailand.
The campaign will take place from June 1 to June 30, 2026, under the theme “End Child Labour 2026.” Participants are encouraged to show support by taking photos with the official campaign symbol at workplaces, educational institutions, or community locations. People can also create awareness materials, posters, and short videos promoting the fight against child labour.
Officials announced that a major public event for World Day Against Child Labour will be held on June 12 at Surasakmontri School starting at 1:30 PM. The event will also be streamed live through the official Facebook page of the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare, allowing people across Thailand to participate online.
The department has invited students, university groups, employers, employees, and organizations to share their campaign activities on social media using the hashtag #EndChildLabour2026. Authorities believe social media participation will help spread awareness more effectively and inspire wider public engagement in protecting children from exploitation.
Participants can submit evidence of their activities or online campaign work through a Google Form between June 12 and July 1, 2026. Individuals and organizations that meet the campaign criteria will receive an electronic certificate issued by the Department of Labour Protection and Welfare in recognition of their contribution.
The Labour Department emphasized that eliminating child labour requires cooperation from every sector of society. Officials stated that ensuring children grow up in safe and supportive environments is essential for the country’s future development and for building a more equal and responsible society in Thailand.
