The Thai government has officially opened nationwide registration for businesses under the “Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40” economic stimulus programme, inviting small and medium enterprises to join the scheme by July 31, 2026.
The initiative aims to boost grassroots economic activity by increasing consumer spending power and supporting local businesses through a government-subsidised payment system.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the programme has already seen strong participation, with more than 946,000 businesses registered and ready to operate since the scheme began accepting applications on June 1.
As of June 3, data shows over 848,000 existing businesses and nearly 97,000 new businesses have successfully registered, while more than 130,000 applications are still awaiting approval and several thousand are under verification.
Deputy government spokesperson Lalida Periswiwatana said the scheme is designed to help restaurants, small shops, community vendors, and service providers increase sales and improve liquidity through digital transactions.
Under the programme, customers can make payments via the “Thung Ngern” application, enabling direct transactions with participating merchants while the government supports part of the spending under the 60/40 cost-sharing model.
The spending phase of the programme runs from June 1 to September 30, 2026, with operating hours for transactions set daily between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM.
Businesses wishing to join must hold a Krung Thai Bank account and register through the Krungthai Money Bag application platform, followed by submission of required documents and verification by relevant authorities.
Once approved, merchants will receive confirmation via SMS and will be officially listed in the system, allowing them to accept payments and track transactions through the digital platform.
Officials said the programme is part of the government’s broader strategy under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul to strengthen domestic consumption, support small enterprises, and circulate income within local communities.
Authorities urged eligible businesses that have not yet registered to complete their application before the deadline to benefit from the ongoing economic stimulus initiative and contribute to nationwide recovery efforts.
