UAE Condemns Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure

UAE Condemns Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure

Post by : Shakul

Dubai, UAE — As the conflict in West Asia continues to intensify, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure and public facilities in the region, warning that such attacks endanger lives and escalate already heightened tensions. High‑ranking Emirati officials reiterated that attacks on non‑military infrastructure violate international law and threaten regional stability.

The UAE Ministry of Defence reported that its advanced air defence systems have successfully intercepted multiple waves of ballistic missiles and drones launched towards Emirati territory. Authorities said the loud explosions heard in several areas were caused by mid‑air interceptions of hostile aerial threats.

Regional developments show the broader conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel has expanded, with Iranian forces launching repeated missile barrages at neighbouring countries and allied interests. In response, Gulf states have bolstered air defences and condemned attacks on civilian sites.

The ongoing hostilities have also disrupted economic activity and heightened global concern over energy security. Brent crude prices neared record monthly gains as the conflict’s effects on oil markets deepened.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts continue as regional powers seek to find a path toward de‑escalation, including discussions in Islamabad involving foreign ministers from key Middle Eastern nations.

Amid rising tensions, the UAE’s call for strict adherence to international norms highlights the broader fears that civilian infrastructure—such as power grids, desalination plants and public facilities—could become more frequent targets if the war spreads further.
