Vietnam Govt Key Decisions and Actions This Week

Vietnam Govt Key Decisions and Actions This Week

Post by : Shakul

The Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister issued several key directives and policy decisions during the week of April 11 to 17, 2026, focusing on transportation safety, economic development, administrative reforms, and social welfare measures. These actions reflect the government’s continued efforts to ensure stability, growth, and public safety across the country.

A major focus during the week was strengthening transportation services and ensuring traffic safety during the Hung Kings’ Commemoration Day and the upcoming April 30 to May 1 holidays. Authorities have been instructed to enhance transport availability, particularly for passengers, and ensure smooth connectivity across major transport hubs such as airports, railway stations, bus terminals, and seaports.

The government also emphasized strict enforcement of traffic laws, with increased patrolling and monitoring by law enforcement agencies. Measures have been directed to prevent illegal activities such as reckless driving, unauthorized racing, and price manipulation by transport operators during peak travel periods.

Another significant directive focused on the allocation of central budget funds for national programs including new rural development, sustainable poverty reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous regions. The policy prioritizes disadvantaged areas to ensure balanced and inclusive growth.

The Prime Minister also called for accelerated allocation and disbursement of public investment capital in 2026, aiming to achieve full utilization of planned funds. Ministries and local authorities have been instructed to closely monitor project progress, address bottlenecks such as land clearance and resource supply, and ensure timely execution.

In addition, the government highlighted the importance of administrative reforms, including restructuring government organizations and improving the quality of public servants. Efforts are being made to streamline operations and enhance efficiency across ministries and local bodies.

The week also saw guidance issued on the implementation of amnesty in 2026, outlining eligibility criteria and timelines for review and release. Alongside this, preparations are underway for commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs, emphasizing gratitude and national unity.

Furthermore, the government approved the establishment of a new branch of the Academy of Finance in Hung Yen province, aimed at strengthening education and training in financial management and administration. Overall, these directives underline Vietnam’s commitment to economic growth, governance reforms, and social development.
