The Government of Vietnam released a series of key directives and instructions on April 17, 2026, covering a wide range of areas including social welfare, administrative reforms, infrastructure development, and policy implementation. These directions reflect the government’s continued focus on strengthening governance, accelerating development projects, and promoting national unity.
A major highlight of the directives is the plan to organize activities marking the 80th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs. The initiative aims to honor the sacrifices of heroic martyrs and those who contributed to the nation’s liberation and development, while also promoting awareness among citizens about the country’s historical and humanitarian values.
The plan emphasizes improving the material and spiritual well-being of people who have rendered services to the revolution. It also seeks to strengthen public awareness and participation in movements that promote gratitude and remembrance, ensuring that these activities are meaningful, respectful, and aligned with national traditions.
Alongside social initiatives, the government has directed ministries to urgently complete legal frameworks and improve policies related to ethnic and religious affairs. Authorities have been asked to enhance administrative efficiency, finalize databases related to ethnicity and religion, and ensure timely responses to issues arising in local communities.
Infrastructure development has also been given strong attention, particularly the implementation of major railway projects. Pham Gia Tuc has directed ministries and local authorities to accelerate progress on key projects such as the North-South high-speed railway and the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway line, ensuring quality, efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
The government has also stressed the importance of adopting modern urban development strategies, including transit-oriented development models in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These initiatives aim to improve connectivity, optimize land use, and support sustainable urban growth.
Additionally, authorities have been instructed to enhance coordination among ministries, strengthen administrative reforms, and ensure effective communication of policies to the public. The overall goal is to create transparency, build public trust, and ensure that policies are implemented efficiently across all sectors.
These directives highlight Vietnam’s commitment to balancing economic growth, social responsibility, and governance reforms, while also preserving historical values and strengthening national development strategies.
