A tragic incident occurred near Gig Harbor, Washington, when a 32-year-old man fatally stabbed four people outside a home on the Key Peninsula. Authorities said the suspect was shot dead by a Pierce County sheriff’s deputy after reports of the stabbings came in early Tuesday morning.
Three victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while a fourth died en route to the hospital. The relationship between the suspect and the victims remains under investigation, and it is unclear if any of the attacks occurred inside the home.
The suspect had a history of mental health and substance abuse issues, and a woman who previously lived at the address had obtained a one-year protection order against him last May. The order required him to stay away from her and not possess dangerous weapons, but it had not been served before the incident.
Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots and observing a heavy police presence at the scene, with ambulances and forensic teams responding. Authorities continue to investigate the motives and circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
