Kyrgyzstan Upgrades Police Infrastructure

Kyrgyzstan Upgrades Police Infrastructure

Post by : Shakul

Kyrgyzstan has taken another major step toward strengthening its law enforcement system after Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev reviewed the modernization of several key facilities under the Ministry of Internal Affairs during a working visit to Bishkek.

The inspection was organized as part of activities marking the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the visit, Adylbek Kasymaliev examined newly upgraded infrastructure, reconstructed buildings, and advanced technical systems aimed at improving the effectiveness of police and security services across the country.

One of the major locations visited was the “Shumkar” special purpose regiment, where authorities recently completed large-scale reconstruction work. The unit received a newly built barracks facility, an indoor mini-football field, renovated office spaces, and a fully modernized gymnasium. Repair and restoration work was also carried out throughout the entire complex to improve daily working and living conditions for officers.

Kasymaliev stated that improving the environment and facilities for law enforcement personnel directly contributes to better physical preparation, stronger professional training, and more effective operational performance. Officials believe modern infrastructure will also improve morale and readiness within special police units.

The delegation also inspected the upgraded Expert-Forensic Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where officials demonstrated several advanced systems now being used in criminal investigations. According to Interior Minister Ulan Niyazbekov, the forensic laboratory has been equipped with modern molecular genetic technology capable of delivering highly accurate forensic analysis.

Authorities also showcased the “POISK” automated ballistic system and the “Sonda” fingerprint identification system, both designed to speed up criminal investigations and improve the accuracy of evidence analysis. Officials said these technologies meet international standards and represent a major step forward in modernizing Kyrgyzstan’s law enforcement capabilities.

Kasymaliev later visited the Internal Affairs Department building in Bishkek’s Sverdlovsk district, where major repair and modernization work has recently been completed. The renovation included replacing engineering systems, improving electrical networks, and upgrading lighting and power supply infrastructure to create safer and more efficient working conditions for police staff.

At the conclusion of the visit, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized that strengthening the technical capacity and infrastructure of law enforcement agencies is essential for maintaining public safety and improving trust between citizens and police authorities. He noted that modern policing requires not only skilled officers but also advanced equipment and effective working environments.

The Kyrgyz government continues to invest in security infrastructure as part of broader reforms aimed at modernizing state institutions and improving public services throughout the country.
