A late night police chase along the New Klang Valley Expressway ended in a crash in Subang Jaya, Malaysia, leading to the arrest of a local man and a foreign woman. The incident has drawn attention due to the dangerous driving involved and the discovery of suspected drugs in the vehicle.
According to police reports, the chase began after the suspects attempted to avoid inspection at a checkpoint. Officers followed the Proton Preve vehicle as it moved along the highway at high speed, creating a risk for other road users.
The driver, a 45 year old Malaysian man, drove recklessly while trying to escape from the authorities. The chase continued until the vehicle exited near Subang and entered a busy intersection in Subang Jaya.
The situation turned serious when the fleeing car crashed into a black BMW at a traffic light on Persiaran Tujuan. The collision brought the chase to an end, allowing police officers to detain both individuals at the scene.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found multiple packets containing suspected drugs. The substances were reported to weigh around 16 grammes, raising concerns about illegal drug activity linked to the suspects.
Police later confirmed that the male suspect has a long criminal history, including 21 past records related to crime and drug offences. He also tested positive for methamphetamine after his arrest.
The female passenger, who is a foreign national, was also detained. Authorities stated that she has no previous criminal record, but both individuals have been remanded for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under several laws, including offences related to obstructing police duties, drug possession, and dangerous driving. Officials have stressed the seriousness of such actions, especially when public safety is at risk.
Police have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. The case highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to control crime and ensure safety on major highways.
