Royal Thai Army personnel from the 31st Infantry Regiment carried out a humanitarian blood donation campaign to help a patient suffering from a chronic illness in Lopburi. The military unit deployed 20 volunteer personnel to donate blood in support of the patient’s ongoing medical treatment.
According to officials, the blood donation drive was organised to assist Mrs. Rapeeporn Jai-aree, who requires frequent blood transfusions and a large supply of blood because of her medical condition. She is currently receiving treatment at Ananthamahidol Hospital located in Khao Sam Yod Subdistrict of Mueang District in Lopburi.
Military volunteers donated a total of 9,000 cc of blood during the campaign. Hospital officials and medical staff appreciated the effort, saying the donated blood would help support the patient’s treatment process and assist medical teams in providing continued care.
The blood donation initiative highlighted the role of the military not only in national security but also in humanitarian and community support activities. Thai military units regularly participate in social welfare programmes, emergency response efforts and public health campaigns across the country.
Officials from the 31st Infantry Regiment said the soldiers volunteered willingly after learning about the patient’s urgent need for blood donations. The campaign reflected the spirit of compassion and public service encouraged within the armed forces.
Medical experts explained that patients suffering from chronic illnesses often require repeated blood transfusions as part of long-term treatment. Blood donation campaigns therefore remain extremely important for hospitals and healthcare facilities to maintain sufficient blood supplies for emergency and routine treatment needs.
Residents and local community members in Lopburi praised the military personnel for their humanitarian contribution. Many people described the initiative as an inspiring example of social responsibility and teamwork aimed at saving lives.
Healthcare authorities continue encouraging the public to participate in regular blood donation drives because blood supplies are essential for surgeries, emergency treatment and the care of patients with serious medical conditions. Hospitals often rely on volunteer donors to meet increasing healthcare demands.
The humanitarian effort by the soldiers once again demonstrated how a simple act such as donating blood can make a major difference in someone’s life. Officials expressed hope that the campaign would inspire more people to come forward and support blood donation programmes in the future.
