Thailand Promotes High-Tech Investment At China Expo

Thailand Promotes High-Tech Investment At China Expo

Post by : Shakul

Thailand's Board of Investment (BOI) has intensified efforts to attract high-tech investment from China by participating in the China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) in Beijing. The event provided a major platform for Thailand to present itself as a strategic investment destination and a vital link in the China-ASEAN supply chain network.

BOI Secretary-General Narut Teodsathirasak led the Thai delegation and emphasized Thailand's readiness to support future industries through strong infrastructure, advanced logistics systems and a business-friendly investment environment.

Thailand Showcases Its Regional Strength

During the international conference, Thailand highlighted its position as a manufacturing and investment hub in Southeast Asia. Officials stressed the country's ability to connect regional and global supply chains, particularly in sectors such as semiconductors, smart electronics, electric vehicles, digital technology and clean energy.

The expo brought together government representatives, industry leaders and businesses from 85 countries, making it one of the world's largest supply chain events.

Focus On Future Industries

The Chinese government organized the event to promote cooperation across six major industries including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, smart vehicles, healthcare, digital technology and green agriculture.

Thailand's investment strategy closely aligns with these sectors as the country seeks to attract technology-driven industries that support long-term economic growth and innovation.

Three Areas Of Future Cooperation

Speaking at the ASEAN Supply Chain Cooperation Meeting, Narut outlined three major areas where Thailand, China and ASEAN countries can strengthen collaboration in the coming years.

The first area involves digital transformation through artificial intelligence, data analytics, smart logistics systems and digital platforms. The second focuses on green industries and sustainable energy solutions. The third centers on advanced manufacturing ecosystems that include research, development, skilled workforce creation and global supply chain integration.

Thailand Highlights Competitive Advantages

The BOI highlighted five major strengths that make Thailand attractive for foreign investors. These include world-class infrastructure, access to international markets through free trade agreements, a skilled workforce, a strong industrial supply chain and government support for business operations.

Thailand is also investing heavily in workforce development through initiatives such as the SkillBridge project, which aims to create highly skilled workers for technology-intensive industries.

FastPass Initiative Supports Investors

To improve investor confidence, Thailand has introduced the Thailand FastPass mechanism. The initiative is designed to accelerate investment approvals, licensing procedures and project implementation.

Officials said the system helps make business processes more transparent, efficient and predictable, creating a favorable environment for international companies looking to expand operations in the region.

Chinese Investment Continues To Grow

China remains Thailand's largest source of foreign investment. In 2025, Chinese companies submitted 982 investment promotion applications worth more than 172 billion baht, accounting for 40 percent of all foreign investment projects approved by the BOI.

During the first quarter of 2026, China continued to lead with 155 investment applications valued at over 17 billion baht. The figures demonstrate strong confidence among Chinese investors in Thailand's economic potential and future growth prospects.
