Thailand's Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, Supamas Isarabhakdi, has announced five major policy goals for the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund as part of preparations for the 2027 fiscal year. Speaking at a planning workshop in Bangkok, she said the new priorities will guide the country's efforts to create safer, more creative and more accessible media for all citizens.
Five Key Goals Unveiled
Supamas said the Media Fund will shift from being only a funding agency to becoming a collaborative partner with public and private organisations. The plan also includes supporting local content creators, promoting Thai digital platforms, expanding media literacy programmes, creating safe learning spaces for all age groups and improving laws that support creative industries and intellectual property development.

Focus on Safe Media and Digital Literacy
The minister stressed that children, young people and older citizens are increasingly vulnerable to online scams, misinformation and harmful digital content. She said media literacy and safe online behaviour must become a national priority so that people can access, understand and use digital media responsibly in their everyday lives.
Support for Content Creators
Supamas also called for a more flexible funding process by reducing paperwork and making it easier for quality content creators to receive financial support. She said the government wants to encourage the production of educational, cultural and socially beneficial content across television, radio, films, online platforms and emerging digital media.
Media Fund to Expand National Partnerships
The Safe and Creative Media Development Fund will strengthen cooperation with agencies such as the Public Relations Department and MCOT to develop local creators and community-based media projects across Thailand. The initiative also aims to create a safer digital environment through stronger cooperation between government, private organisations and civil society.
Government Seeks Long-Term Media Development
Supamas said the 2027 operational plan marks the final year of the fund's second strategic plan and will help shape the next phase of Thailand's media development. She expressed confidence that stronger cooperation, improved public awareness and greater access to safe media will contribute to long-term social development and responsible digital citizenship.
