Anutin Says OTOP Represents Thailand’s Global Brand

Anutin Says OTOP Represents Thailand’s Global Brand

Post by : Shakul

Thai Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul officially opened the OTOP Midyear 2026 event at the IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Nonthaburi. During the opening ceremony, he highlighted the importance of OTOP products as symbols of Thai identity and cultural pride rather than simply community-made goods.

The Prime Minister said that OTOP has become a powerful platform for preserving local wisdom while creating economic opportunities for communities across Thailand. He stressed that the initiative reflects the country's unique heritage and creativity.

OTOP Reflects The Spirit Of Thainess

Addressing participants at the event, Anutin stated that even in an era dominated by innovation and advanced technologies, traditional community products continue to hold special value. He noted that these products tell stories about local culture, craftsmanship and history that cannot be replicated by mass production.

According to him, promoting cultural products helps strengthen the image of Thailand globally and contributes to building a stronger national brand.

Inspiration From International Recognition

The Prime Minister referred to his recent visit to France, where the "Royal Textiles to the World" exhibition attracted significant international attention. The exhibition showcased Thai craftsmanship and demonstrated the growing global appreciation for Thai cultural products.

He also highlighted the success of the "Thai Silk, Wear It For Fun" campaign, which has encouraged greater interest in Thai textiles both domestically and internationally.

Building A New Generation Of Entrepreneurs

Anutin emphasized that the OTOP initiative should be viewed as more than a job creation program. He described it as a pathway for developing a new generation of Thai entrepreneurs capable of transforming local resources into valuable cultural assets.

He encouraged communities to continue innovating while preserving their traditional knowledge, ensuring that local products remain competitive in global markets.

Government Support For Growth

The Thai government remains committed to supporting OTOP producers through technology adoption, product development and market expansion. Officials believe modern tools and digital platforms can help community businesses reach wider audiences and unlock new growth opportunities.

The Prime Minister said the government's goal is to help OTOP products become internationally recognized symbols of Thai quality, creativity and craftsmanship.

OTOP Midyear 2026 Draws National Attention

The OTOP Midyear 2026 event is being held from June 20 to June 28 at Challenger Hall 1-3 in Muang Thong Thani. The exhibition features more than 10,000 products created by local artisans and entrepreneurs from across Thailand.

Visitors can explore a wide variety of handmade goods, cultural products, textiles and innovative community-based items that reflect Thailand's diverse regional heritage.

Promoting Thailand To The World

Concluding his remarks, Anutin invited citizens and visitors to support local producers by purchasing OTOP products. He said the event serves as a platform to present Thailand's cultural identity to the world while strengthening grassroots economic development.

He reaffirmed that OTOP remains an important tool for preserving Thai wisdom, generating income and promoting sustainable economic growth throughout the country.
