A Singapore Airlines flight scheduled to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore experienced a significant delay after encountering a tyre-related issue at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The incident affected 143 passengers and eight crew members on board the aircraft.
Two Tyres Deflated After Landing
According to Singapore Airlines, two tyres on the Boeing 737-8 operating Flight SQ114 deflated shortly after the aircraft landed in Kuala Lumpur on June 21. Airport authorities and airline staff immediately began procedures to ensure passenger safety and aircraft recovery.
Passengers Moved To Terminal
Following the incident, the aircraft was towed to a remote parking area within the airport. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated from the plane and transported by bus to the airport terminal while technical teams assessed the situation.

Replacement Aircraft Arranged
To minimize disruption, Singapore Airlines dispatched a replacement aircraft from Singapore to operate the return flight. The airline also provided refreshments and assistance to affected travelers during the waiting period.
Support For Connecting Passengers
The carrier said support was extended to passengers who had onward travel connections. Airline staff assisted travelers with rebooking arrangements and other travel-related requirements caused by the unexpected delay.
Possible Reasons Behind Tyre Failure
Aviation experts note that aircraft tyres can deflate or burst for several reasons, including hard landings, excessive wear and tear, incorrect tyre pressure, or damage caused by debris on the runway. The exact cause of the incident has not been officially disclosed.
Second Similar Incident In Days
The event marks the second tyre-related incident involving a Singapore Airlines flight arriving in Kuala Lumpur within a short period. Another flight reportedly experienced a tyre burst during landing on June 13, prompting additional attention to operational safety procedures.
